I decided to tinker around on an old kid's practice first act piano. There are metal rods inside that are struck, and produce a plink/ringing sound. It is also out of tune, which makes it wonderful for producing an eerie feeling when played in a minor key.

This lovely little toy piano has been a member of my parent’s home since before i can remember. These days it falls under the jurisdiction of my 4-year old niece, who was ever so kind as to allow me to record it!. It has a fabulous tinkling and out-of-tune carnival sort of sound, and i wanted to capture that before the piano was destroyed altogether. 24 bit sample, direct to sound card, volume adjusted to remove peaks. . . Sound is a long recording of static and crackling noises with random notes and music from a circuit bent musini toy. I honestly don't know if the static sound (activated with two body contacts) is classified as "white" or "pink" noise, but i really like the sound of it! a plethora of crunchy, crispy, noisy snippets to transform into a drum kit or something like that!.
